Description
Sodium Carbonate is a chemical compound with the formula Na2CO3. This compound is commonly known as sodium carbonate anhydrate and it comes in the form of white or colorless crystals. Sodium carbonate is found in nature as a mineral under the name “Trona” or “Nahcolite” and it can also be produced synthetically.
Applications of sodium carbonate include:
1. Basic nature: sodium carbonate is an open compound, in the sense that it reacts with acids, and nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and acetonitrile are among the substances it reacts with.
2. Anti-acid: sodium carbonate is used to transfer acids in commerce and industry; For example, it is used in the production of chemicals and as an auxiliary compound for health and cosmetic products.
3. Detergents: As one of the important uses of sodium carbonate, we can mention its use in detergents such as soap, washing powder and cleaning materials.
4. pH adjustment: sodium carbonate is used as a compound that has the ability to adjust the pH of solutions. For example, in processes related to water and wastewater treatment and production of food products.
5. Glass production: sodium carbonate is used in the glass industry as one of the important reactive materials. This compound absorbs sodium oxide waste and reduces its amount, which lowers the melting point properties of the glass.

Ballclay

Composition: 20-80% kaolinite, 10-25% mica and 6-65% quartz Contains lime: the most important feature of Ballclay soil is that it contains more than 20% of lime (calcium carbonate), which creates unique properties such as the ability to be limed (combined with water) and the formation of hard and stable states. Stability of the structure: The lime present in Balkali soil makes the soil structure stable and pressure resistant.
